Werewolves, Waterhags, Warrior Nekker, Wyvern, Doppler, Succubus, are found in Velen. Some of them like the doppler and succubus are Witcher contracts. Archgriffin and Katakan also drop a 10% red mutagen but I haven't seen them in Velen. Those are the base monsters and their mutagens are just 5%.

The only area players will be able to locate Mutagen Bulbs is within Rockwell's Innards (biome). This biome spawns three Mutagen Bulbs every hour (eight hours on a dedicated server) and can be easily spotted.

During the early part of the game your best bet for getting hold of red mutagens are Drowned Dead on Skellige. There are two places where these monsters regularly re-spawn and are worth visiting to try to get red mutagens: the Whale Graveyard, and Redgill – both found on the east coast of the main island, Ard Skellig.
